Day 2

Lots of household chores...then the first of the summer series jazz concerts at Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. Spyra Gyra headlined, but the guitar player and the sax man did not make it, thanks to Delta Airlines.

June 11, Summer Vacation, Day 1

Saturday morning, I slept until 8:00, such a luxury! I awoke to a breakfast of sausage and sweet potato pancakes courtesy of my honey Herb. Yum! Can't do that every morning or I will quickly gain back the 27 pounds I lost this year. Usually it's a 9:15 Jazzercise class on Saturday mornings to make sure that does not happen. Just not today.

First stop of the day, Riverside Arts Market. A slow walk around all the booths of jewelry, art, food, flowers and fruit while listening to music and watching all the folks. Such fun.

Next stop, The Town Center, looking for a new bathing suit, with no luck. Instead, it was a sale at Soma for some lovely lingerie. Then to Sephora for the perfect mascara and lipstick. With the help of Julie I learned that I have long thin lashes and need a very tight rubber brush so my lashes will not clump together. I found it in Clinique with a brush and comb wand. Also some Sephora brand lipsticks in Charmer and Sienna Fiesta. Artsy Abode had a bright, colorful summer dress with lace on the bottom hem and two dragonflies, so me.

After a long day of shopping, home for an afternoon nap. Ahhhh.....

To top it all off, a party at Carol's house. The Last Ninth Street House Bash. Good friends, good music, good memories and good-byes. And lots of tequila toasts to new beginnings.

A fun filled first day and a great way to kick off the summer!
